POLE MER PACA

SECMAR

Security systems for the protection of goods and persons located in a sensitive maritime area.

SECMAR

The SECMAR project, which was approved in November 2007, is aimed at providing a concrete solution for the detection of a potential terrorist threat using the sea, on the surface or under water, as a preferred way to attack a sensitive coastal site.
This project coordinates detection means such as Sonar, Radar and Optoelectronics, which are investigated and developed by private companies of the PACA region, within a structure involving equipment and software, which is open, modular and generic.

These detection means are connected to the ground-based Centre in charge of innovative processing of suspicious groupings, as well as detection of abnormal behaviour.

The Port of Marseille Authority (P.A.M) has been selected to be the pilot site for long term testing over 6 months.
