Passive acoustic sensor generation
This project was certified in March 2007, aims to develop a new type of passive acoustic sensor new generation (NG-CAP) broadband equipment integrated into current standards (eg sonobuoy naval aviator) or permitting, through its increased performance, development of new functions of listening (eg, acoustic barrier, protection of marine mammals).
This is a smart sensor that combines physics and electronics with the goal in terms of performance is to obtain a minimum of 20 dB improvement in SNR compared with current sensors of the same range, commonly used passive listening in omni-directional. This gain is particularly exceptional and sensors on the market and manufactured by foreign companies (U.S., UK), do not reach this level.
